DCA: Homeschool Curriculum
Declaration Christian Academy is part of the Declaration Ministries umbrella. Based in Tennessee, we currently offer a homeschool umbrella school to parents. We fully believe that Christian education should start at a young age.
One of the curriculum providers that we use is Alpha Omega Publications. In addition, to workbooks and textbooks, they now offer software based curriculum in a wide range of age levels and topics including state history and electives.

National Day of Prayer
We have just passed the world Day of Prayer which we were to celebrate quietly
in our hearts. It is ironic that it was inaugurated by that great emancipator
President A. Lincoln who called for a day of prayer. His words are great reminders
to a nation run amuck—
“We have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us! It behooves us, then to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.” Abraham Lincoln
If Lincoln’s words were appropriate in March 1863 how much more are they appropriate in May 2009?

Paying it Forward
I saw this piece on Fox and Friends on Fox News and thought that this should be an example for all of those in ministry. "We are in the business of helping people".
You can never out give God.
You can never out give God.

Victory Lies Ahead
People ask me all the time-where are we on God’s calendar? We are on the cusp of the greatest days in history! That means it is the best of times; it is the worst of times. God is trying to get America’s attention, and he will with economic trouble. If that doesn’t work, He will tighten the vise with terrorist activity and the collapse of the American dollar. But what we must understand is that his mercy is full. He is tired of the drugs, the pornography, the lewd sexual events, the casualness with which men handle religion, the sin! It has reached his nostrils. He is going to do something about it. And what he will do won’t be pretty, but it will be efficient and thorough. It will put men on their knees. Of course, men have been saying this for years. The difference is that now it is coming home to roost. We are actually seeing the first stages of God’s dealing. This is not recession. This is not depression. It is the dealing of God in America. We will not buy our way out of this. We will not bargain our way out. The only thing we can do is pray our way through to the other side where victory awaits the people of God. On that side will stand saints who are ready to deliver this world from the bondage of corruption. On that side stand saint s who are ready to let the captives go free. We have to get to the other side which means wading through the Jordon at floodtide, so to speak. But, past the raging waters of this present moment there are victories for the people of God, if we can stand until the indignation be over-past. Get through this present moment; victory lies ahead!

Graduation - May 2009
On May 9th of this year the first graduating class of Declaration Ministries passed through the graduation line and received their diplomas. It was a glorious day for all to see these launched into the ministry. There were 9 graduates in the first class, an inauspicious little beginning but we are expecting great things as the school grows and other students joins the ranks of those who are preaching the Gospel. We were also able to recognize three great older warriors for service Dr. Doyle Stanfield, Rev Wayne Robertson and Rev. Elvin Willett, men with 183 years between them in ministry. It was a glorious day of rejoicing as family and friends joined with the graduates and faculty wishing them all the best as they started into the ministry. Those graduating were, Shirleen Atkins, Linda Hayes, Wanette McQuitty, Emmett Atkins, Dean King, Matthew Webb, William Wiley, and Johnny Hayes.

Nigeria Mission Trip
In March we went to Nigeria for a mission trip. Going to another country always makes me grateful for the blessings we have in this country. The trip was comprised of George McDowell, Joseph McDowell and Emmitt Atkins.
While there we ordained over 100 ministers and preached to hundreds. We taught classes and workshops in the morning and preached in the evening. It was both exhausting and fulfilling.

About Declaration Ministries
Declaration Ministries was the ministry outlet of George McDowell Sr. and George McDowell Jr which they founded in 1997. It is a fellowship of ministers and churches.
Part of Bro McDowell Sr’s vision was an association which both recognized ministry as well as served as a resource for them. Declaration Ministries now has ministers around the country and around the world. To serve as a resource for these ministries a website was created for their use. This website is a portal of information, supplies, support and much more. Additionally, all information for Declaration Ministries can be found through this site. It serves as a logistical base of communications and information transfer for missionary outworking and education throughout the world.
Declaration Ministries offers a broad spectrum to the ministry community.
· Ministry Association – A place where ministers and Christian leaders of all denominations can find resources, support and fellowship.
· Ministry licensing – For the beginner through the college trained education
· Home school – Anywhere in the world through Declaration Christian Academy
· Training - leadership training - on site and online
· Post Secondary Ministerial Training – Online curriculum
· Church Establishment – building and supporting New Testament ministries
· Mission work – Leading & supporting mission teams
o Africa
o Pakistan
o Panama
o Honduras
o Venezuela
All this and much more was part of Bro McDowell’s vision. Truly the world was his pulpit - a vision that he caught at Holmes Bible College and never let go of. Anyone who remembers Bro. McDowell remembers that he carried cards in his pocket with people’s addresses on them. That was because people were his life. We want to remember not only him but the work he began and the lives he influenced.

Time Flies....
We are so busy that I sometimes forget to keep everyone informed. I email this person and call that person, but I always manage to forget someone. So I had the bright idea of starting a blog so that everyone could stay up to date. Well that doesn't work if you forget to put anything on the blog. :)
Here are a few updates:
The summer 2008 trip to Panama was a wonderful success and God blessed as usual.
We are currently planning two more mission trips. One to Panama and one to Nigeria.
In addition to mission work, we are expanding Declaration Ministries and its outreach. We will soon be posting more information.
